Iranian Journal of Veterinary Science and Technology (IJVST) publishes important research advances in veterinary medicine and subject areas relevant to veterinary medicine including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, bacteriology, biochemistry, biotechnology, food hygiene, public health, immunology, molecular biology, parasitology, pathology, virology, large and small animal medicine, poultry diseases, diseases of equine species, aquaculture, etc. Articles can comprise research findings in basic sciences, as well as applied veterinary findings and experimental studies and their impact on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. IJVST publishes four kinds of manuscripts: Research Article, Review Article, Short Communication, and Case Report.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from
